Hunter's Role in Raiding.
2010-03-22 00:00:00
Ok,
If your guild lets you do what you were built to do...
Your main role will be watching the pats on your tracker and making the necessary pulls back to the group were the tank can pick up.
Peeps in here keep saying there is no designated role for hunters,
In my guild if I am in a dungeon/raid I am the designated puller, not by choice, but by designation due to class. If you want to see a safe pull, try having a warrior pull Rattlegore in scholo without pulling the adds behind. On my rogue I had seen it done and new it could be done as it was a hunter who had done it. Went in there with my 5man leveling team on my hunter, the warrior was an ex hunter who re-rolled and he said Ill do the pulling in this instance. Ok, no problems... Up until we hit rattlegore. He did all the pulls fine then came time to pull Rattlegore, first time he trie...
HUNTER VS. WARLOCK

So far, I have a 24 Hunter and a 14 Warlock, and my opinion is that soloing as a Hunter is like, WAY easier than as a Warlock. I HATE soloing as a warlock. Your demons don't regenerate very fast, and it's really hard to heal them. Hunters have Mend Pet which is godly and are a high damage class. Even with a wand and all those DoTs, Warlocks don't match hunters IMO.
Money's the same for both really. Depends on what you fight and your professions.
I haven't done PvP...
Great Stamina/Natural Armor

GS gives you more health so it's equally useful against all types of mob, although for me, the amount of points necessary for a significant stam gain is too steep.
NA gives you more bang for your buck (so to speak) but it's only helpful vs physical damage, which is great when
So the answer really is, it depends what you're fighting. If you think your pet will be taking physical damage, take NA. If you're fighting casters, GS is more useful, but in this case, I'd usually spend the points in resistances.
For PvP, I'd recommend resistances over both. Nobody with half a brain is going to be gunning for your pet anyway, he'd just need to be protected against AoE. Personally ...
The "Check" on Hunters?
2010-03-01 00:00:00
So, we all know that WoW has a kind of setup as far as how classes compare to eachother. My current main is a Mage, and I have never had a Hunter above level 18 (my next project).
However, I have fault them many times and the only ones I win against are the ones so bad that they make me cry.
So, I got to thinking. What class has an advantage over them? All casters are slowed due to their pet (which also eats up a CC, depending on how strong it is). Their Traps and Shots (and Boar Stuns) keep me where THEY want me (mostly).
Maybe a Warrior? But a Warrior will have trouble closing the gap between them, and cannot heal himself. He also has no choice but to kill the pet or allow it to hit him.
Maybe a Paladin? Better, due to the ability to heal and bubb...
